The Notasulga Blue Devils rallied from two touchdowns down to defeat Fayetteville, 23-19 on Friday.
This was the Wolves first loss of the season.
Fayetteville got on the board first in the first quarter. Tyari Powell-Welch scored from a yard out to give the Wolves a 7-0 lead. Notasulga responded with a touchdown and two point conversion to take an 8-7 lead. The Blue Devils added a field goal late in the first half to take an 11-7 lead into halftime.
Fayetteville’s Dustin Ingram had a huge game for the visiting team. The sophomore rushed for 217 yards and two touchdowns. His first touchdown of the game came in the third quarter from 7 yards out to give the Wolves a 13-11 lead. Later in the quarter he scored a touchdown from 8 yards out increase their lead to 19-11.
The Blue Devils scored 12 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to earn the victory.
Fayetteville (3-1,2-1) travels to take on ASD next Friday.
Lincoln 21, Hokes Bluff 14
The Lincoln Golden Bears earned their first victory of the season on Friday with a 21-14 win over Hokes Bluff.
Chance Byrd connected with Dontarious Johnson for an 11 yard touchdown to tie the game at 7-7. Jamario Howard the Golden Bears second touchdown of the night from 4 yard out.
The game was tied at 14-14 late in the fourth quarter.
Lincoln’s Zay Caldwell intercepted Hokes Bluff quarterback off to give the ball at the Hoke Bluff 30 yard line. Lincoln drove 70 yards for the game winning drive.
Jauntavius Johnson scored from two yard out to put Lincoln ahead 21-14. On defensive side of the ball, Jauntavius Johnson recorded a sack to seal the victory for Lincoln.
