According to interim Talladega Police Chief Jason Busby, the victim, a resident of the 400 block of Hyde Lane, was going through a divorce. The victim told investigators that four people came to his house to continue a dispute over some belongings between him and his ex-wife.
He said all four were friends of his estranged wife, although only one of the four was well-known to him. Busby said the victim claimed that he was jumped, punched and kicked repeatedly before being stabbed with a knife or similar object by the white male that he knew.
Busby said the one known suspect was a 42 year-old white male, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 205 pounds. The other suspects were described as two white males and a white female, with no further description given.
The victim was transported over land to Regional Medical Center in Anniston, where he was treated and released.
