According to interim Talladega Police Chief Jason Busby, Brittany Perdue, 24, of Sloan Ave., was arrested Wednesday at a residence on Alabama 77 South.
The arrest stems from an incident on July 29 when Perdue allegedly cashed a check ostensibly from Elwood Staffing at the S&J Mini-Mart. The check came back as a forgery on Aug. 9.
Perdue was arrested Wednesday without incident.
Possession of a forged instrument in the second degree is a Class C felony in Alabama, punishable upon conviction by one year and one day to 10 years in prison.
