“The members of the Board of Directors are happy to announce Mr. Thomas as permanent CFO of First National Bank,” said Larkin Coker, Chairman of the Board. “His extensive knowledge of accounting policies and procedures and his twenty-year tenure with First National make him ideally fit for the position. Mr. Thomas has truly proved his dedication not only for FNB, but also for the community of Talladega”.
Thomas, a Talladega native, brings over twenty years of banking and financial experience to his position as Chief Financial Officer. He has served as First National Bank’s in-house Accountant since 1994, and has also been responsible for the audit function of all areas of the Bank including Operations, Lending, Compliance and Investments. Prior to joining First National Bank, Thomas served as the Internal Auditor for Colonial Banc Group in Birmingham, Alabama from 1991 to 1994.

Thomas is a 1987 graduate of Talladega High School and went on to obtain his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Accounting and Finance from Lipscomb University, in Nashville, TN, where he graduated cum laude in 1991. In 1996, Thomas graduated from the Community Banking Graduate School program at Samford University. In the same year, he was designated a Certified Public Accountant by the State of Alabama.
Thomas remains very active in the Talladega community, serving on the boards of many organizations, such as the Ritz Theatre and the Mardi Gras Committee.
