For the third time in the last several weeks, House of Judah Ministries has had their air conditioners targeted and stripped for copper.
According to Capt. John McCoy, the copper is probably worth no more than $10, but damage to the unit could run several hundred dollars.
This incident took place between midnight Tuesday and 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The second incident involved someone breaking into the vacuum and air compressor at the Samco station at Six Points. McCoy said it was not clear exactly how much change had been taken, but again the damage to the machine will likely be in the hundreds of dollars. This happened sometime between Sept. 30 and Wednesday.
Lastly, and perhaps oddest of all, someone appears to have broken into a drop box for King’s Ranch and Hannah Home in front of the old Victory Fuels location on Alabama 21 North. Clothes were scattered around the box, and presumably some clothes were taken, although it was not possible to say for certain.
The padlock was ripped off the door of the box, and the door severely damaged, McCoy said.
It was not exactly clear when the box was broken into, however. The damaged door was spotted by a patrol officer Wednesday night and reported then.
