The St. Clair County Head Start Program helps your child develop the skills that he or she will need for future academic success. This program provides a fun learning environment for your child to flourish socially and intellectually.
Due to limited openings, we encourage you to apply now. If your child is three or four years of age on or before Sept. 1, 2013 and meets the necessary federal income guidelines, he or she is eligible to apply.
There is no fee for Head Start. Transportation is provided for children who live beyond a five-mile radius of the center and services are offered to meet the needs of all children including children with severe disabilities.
Registration time is 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday through Friday at St. Clair County Head Start Center in Pell City on U.S. 231 North.
Required information for completed application:
O Social Security card for applying child.
O Birth certificate (official by state) for the child.
O W-2 tax return and latest check stub.
O Blue immunization slip.
O Medicaid or private insurance (if applicable).
O Food Stamps/TANF or other public assistance (if applicable).
O Proof of guardianship/custody if not biological child.
If your child is accepted to attend Head Start, a physical and dental screening is required.
