A one vehicle accident in Talladega County Sunday night left an Oneonta woman dead and a man hospitalized in Birmingham, according to Alabama State Troopers.

Troopers said the accident occurred on Interstate 20, one mile south of Oxford at the 180 mile marker.

Teresa D. Kitchener, 50, was a passenger in the 2000 Ford when it left the roadway and overturned. She died of her injuries at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle, Davied Michael Kitchner, 52, also of Onteonta, was injured in the crash and transported to University Hospital in Birmingham for treatment. No information on his condition was available Monday.

The troopers said neither Kitchener was using a seat belt at the time of the accident.

The investigation remained ongoing Monday afternoon, with no new information available.
