Riverside releases candidates' names for city clerk position

RIVERSIDE – The city released the names Monday of the top five candidates who will interview for the city clerk position.

“We had six top candidates, however one chose not to continue with the interview process,” Riverside Mayor Rusty Jessup said.

The candidates, in the order they will interview in, are Tammy Hayes, Mary Nash, Amber Mikell, Brittney Rashleigh and Candace Smith.

The first interview, of Tammy Hayes, is at 7 p.m. tonight at the Riverside Storm Shelter. The public is invited to attend but only the mayor and council can question the candidates.

“We have six interview dates, and will keep the last one tentative incase we need to reschedule an interview or bring a candidate back for a second interview,” Jessup said.

All interviews are held at the Riverside Storm Shelter.

Interview dates are set at:

• Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. with Tammy Hayes

• Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 6 p.m. with Mary Nash

• Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 7 p.m. with Amber Mikell

• Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 6 p.m. with Brittney Rashleigh

• Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. with Candace Smith

• Monday, Dec. 16 at 6 p.m. tentative date to be announced if needed.

Jessup said each interview is expected to last anywhere from 20-45 minutes, but no longer than one hour.

According to submitted resumes, Hayes, who lives in Talladega, is currently office administrator at Hayes Awning Company LLC in Pell City. Past experience includes property manager at River Bend Apartments in Riverside and office manager of Shop & Chek in Atlanta.

Nash, who lives in Talladega, has work experience as assistant vice president of services administration for Sycamore Federal Credit Union, staffing specialist for Elwood Staffing Services Inc. and program coordinator for the city of Talladega Parks and Recreation Department.

Mikell, who lives in Pell City, currently works as an administrative clerk/accounts payable for the city of Pell City. Previous work experience includes Caremark Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Manager II.

Rashleigh, who lives in Ashville, currently works as an outside sales manager and product specialist with Jones Stephens Corporation in Moody. Past experience includes inside sales and marketing manager with Jones Stephens Corporation in Moody and secretary for Raceway Store Support Center in Moody.

Smith, who lives in Pell City, currently works as an office manager for D&D Truss Components Inc. Past experience includes assistant general manager for Buffalo Wild Wings in Hoover and teller for Union State Bank in Homewood.
