Congratulations are in order for the Munford High School football players, coaches and supporters on a terrific season. The Lions made it to the semifinals before bowing out, proving themselves to be one of the top four teams in the state in their division.

Since the school fielded its first football team in 1938, only four teams have gone so far in the playoffs.

With a 12-2 record, Munford outscored opponents this season 432-207, and won the Region 5 championship with a perfect 7-0 record. Only once in school history has a Munford team had more wins in a single season.

Head coach Will Wagnon, the assistant coaches, players and others behind the scenes have dedicated themselves to doing their best, and this year they had a season to remember.

Way to go, Lions!
