Brandon Keith Weathers, 31, and Roger Jones, 27, were both arrested in Childersburg for manufacture of a controlled substance in the first degree for operating a clandestine methamphetamine lab. Both men had their initial court appearances and had bonds set at $100,000 each, according to Jason Blankenship with the Talladega County Drug and Violent Crime Task Force.
In Sylacauga, Anthony Carter, 49, was arrested for unlawful possession of a controlled substance, specifically oxycodone. Bond in his case was set at $15,000.
In Talladega, Willie Dewayne James, 46, was arrested for unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, specifically crack cocaine. James’ bond was set at $25,000.
Manufacture of a controlled substance is a class A felony in Alabama, punishable upon conviction by 10 to 99 years or life in prison.
Distribution of a controlled substance is a Class B felony, punishable by two to 20 years in prison.
Possession of a controlled substance is a Class C felony, punishable by one year and one day to 10 years in prison.
