The application deadline for the Lincoln Toys for Tykes program is 4 p.m. Friday.

“The applications are available at the Lincoln Police Department, and must be turned in at the police department,” said Lin Estes, coordinator of the Lincoln Toys for Tykes program. “Incomplete applications will not be accepted.”

The Lincoln Toys for Tykes program is for children ages 2-12 who live in the Lincoln police jurisdiction.

“Our coverage expanded due to the census, and is based on the police jurisdiction, not on city limits,” Estes said. “But you have to live in the Lincoln police jurisdiction to qualify for the program.”

Estes said donations are also needed.

“We would appreciate monetary donations by Dec. 13 so we can shop for the toys,” she said.

Estes said the Lincoln Toys for Tykes program helped more than 120 children last year.

“We need to raise about $4,000 this year,” she said.

Estes said donations of new, unwrapped toys appropriate for ages 2-12 are also needed.

“If you are donating a toy, please donate by Dec. 20 so I can get the toys sorted and ready,” she said. “Donations are tax deductible.”

Estes said toy pickup is from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23 at the Lincoln Police Department.
