A life-long resident of the city, Storey worked energetically to revitalize the chamber and bring people together to make the city a better place to live, work, and do business.
The chairman of the chamber’s board of directors, Bubba Cleckler, had high praise for Storey, and said he hopes the board can find someone else for the job who can match Storey’s love for Childersburg.
Storey said the chamber’s recently adopted three-year strategic plan and an annual business plan were particular points of pride in his accomplishments, and said he was proud of the group of strong business leaders on the chamber’s board.
Also a high school football official, the 55-year-old Storey spends his Friday nights running up and down football fields with teenagers. He’s used that same energy and stamina to organizing and supporting community events, mentoring students in the Chamber Ambassadors program, and to bringing people together to make Childersburg a better place.
He’s moving on to a new opportunity to help other chambers with charity golf tournaments through the sale of insurance which will cover the cost of a new car or other expensive prizes if someone makes a hole-in-one.
We appreciate the work Storey has done at the chamber and wish him all the best in the future.
