Free food distribution will be Wednesday, Dec. 18, starting at 8 a.m. at the J. Craig Smith Community Center in Sylacauga.

Provided by the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama, Alabama Childhood Food Solutions and End Hunger Sylacauga, the food includes meat, non-perishable food and bread.

Anyone in emergency need of food assistance in Talladega County receiving SNAP/food stamps, TANF, SSI or meeting income guidelines is eligible to receive food. Proof of need is not required. Food will be available for 300 families.

Pre-registration is not required. Registration and distribution will last from 8 a.m. until the food is given out.

End Hunger Sylacauga is developing a monthly food distribution program for food-insecure families in Talladega County using criteria established by the Community Food Bank of Sylacauga in Birmingham. There will be no discrimination in the sharing of food while supplies last.
