Lincoln police investigating murder of Talladega man

LINCOLN - The Police Department is investigating the murder of a Talladega man.

Talladega County Coroner Shaddix Murphy identified the victim as John Caldwell, 63.

“He was found by family members at his residence on Roberson Road at approximately 12:48 p.m. Monday,” Murphy said. “I pronounced him dead at the scene at 1:50 p.m.”

Murphy said Caldwell had one stab wound to the neck but no other wounds.

“The body was sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery for autopsy,” he said.

Lincoln Police Investigator Amanda Crow said authorities are searching for a suspect, however, no warrants have been issued and no further information is available at this time.
