Vacant house destroyed by fire

A vacant house being renovated was destroyed by fire early Sunday, according to Childersburg Fire Department reports.

The brick veneer house at 10080 Gristmill Road was being renovated by Natasha Reynolds. A metal roof and new drywall had been installed.

Firefighters were called to the house Sunday morning at 7:42 and found the house fully involved in fire. It was a total loss.

No one was in the residence at the time of the fire, and no one was injured.

On Monday at 8:30 a.m., firefighters extinguished a burning 2001 Buick Regal in the 1400 block of Ponderosa Circle. The car, belonging to Pat Davis, sustained damage to the engine compartment and dash area.
