Lady Tigers earn win against Lady Hornets

The Childersburg girls team had a resounding victory versus the Dallas County girls team, 65-13. The team got out to a 14-4 lead by the end of the first quarter. By halftime, they had built the lead to 36-11. Cierra Swain had a scoring outburst in the second quarter, leading all scorers during the quarter with nine points.

The Lady Tigers held the Lady Hornets scoreless in the third quarter to gain a 57-11 lead.

Swain finished as the game’s leading scorer with 15 points, while Tariah Reynolds finished the game with 14 points. Caneasha Calhoun and Kristade Swain contributed eight points.

With the win, Childersburg moved to an overall record of 4-6.

Childersburg hosts Ben Russell Thursday with tipoff scheduled for 6 p.m.


The Fayetteville Lady Wolves pulled out a close win Tuesday night on Senior Night.

B.B. Comer led 21-11 at halftime, but Fayetteville outscored the Lady Tigers 26-9 in the second half.

Senior Ledra Leonard led the team in scoring with 11 points. Brittany Snyder was also in double digits with 10 points. Kayla Williams and Deasia Crowe both had six points, while Hailey Haynes chipped in four points.

Thursday’s game against TC Central has been re-scheduled for later in the season.


Kierra Groce led the Lady Lions in their win by posting a double-double, finishing with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Rauanna Caldwell was also in double digits in scoring with 11 points.

The Lady Lions play at Talladega Thursday at 6 p.m.



Talladega used their offense to pick up a home area win Tuesday night against Chilton County.

The team held a commanding 74-54 at the end of the third quarter before the Chilton County offense made things interesting.

Richard Williams finished the game with 30 points, 20 of which came in the first quarter. Williams made four 3-point shots in the first quarter. D’Angelo Scales did a good job of distributing the ball, finishing with 11 assists, as well as 14 points. Desmond Green was the team’s second-leading scorer with 18 points. Ahmad Gooden scored nine points and grabbed eight rebounds. Josh Madden also finished with nine points.

The win moves the team to 3-0 in area play and 11-1 overall.

The Tigers host Munford Thursday at Chuck Miller Arena with tipoff slated for 7:30 p.m.


Tavon Lawson had a strong showing for Munford Tuesday night, finishing as the team’s leading scorer with 19 points. Brett Haynie and Cameron Turner both had eight points, while Logan Cooper contributed six points.

The win moves Munford to 2-3 overall.

The play at Talladega Thursday with tipoff slated for 7:30 p.m.


Comer jumped out to a 19-5 first quarter and used it to fuel their road win against Fayetteville Tuesday night.

Houston Ford led the team in scoring with 20 points, while Darius Hale had 17 points.

Austin Nicholson had one of his strongest games of the season while providing the team with solid defense and a post presence.

Comer host Sylacauga Friday with tipoff slated for 7:30 p.m.
