Investigators from the Talladega County Sheriff’s Department seek information after being alerted that an estimated 15 miles of copper wiring was stolen from an Avondale Mills warehouse in Sylacauga over a two-year span.

The missing wiring, valued at approximately $150,000, was reported stolen Dec. 10.

According to Capt. Bill Kennedy, representatives from an architectural recycling company who purchased the building had not been in it since Oct. 15, 2011.

“They bought it, locked it up and haven’t been in there since,” Kennedy said.

Kennedy said Investigator Josh Tubbs has been assigned to the case and there are currently no suspects or witnesses to the theft.

Anyone who has information pertaining to the case may contact Tubbs at 256-245-5121.
