The pre-holiday crime spree continued in Talladega Tuesday, with two more homes burglarized and a work truck stolen.

According to Talladega Police Chief Jason Busby, the first break-in was on McMillan Street between 10 a.m. and noon. The only item reported stolen was an antique nickel plated Smith and Wesson .22 valued by its owner at $1,000. There are no witnesses or suspects in the case, Busby said.

The other break-in was on Mahoney Lane sometime between 5 a.m. and 5 p.m., Busbsy said. In this case, the house had clearly been ransacked, but it did not appear that anything had been stolen.

The stolen work truck was a 2006 Dodge Ram with Omaha painted on the tailgate. The truck belongs to Waites Concrete and apparently has specialized equipment on it, since it is valued at $45,000.

The truck was stolen sometime Tuesday from the Waites Concrete office on Stephen J. White Memorial Boulevard. There are no witnesses or suspects in this case either, Busby said.

Anyone with information about any of these incidents should contact the Talladega Police Department at 256-362-4508 or call the anonymous tip line at 256-299-0011.
