A Cropwell man was arrested after he was indicted by a St. Clair County grand jury for manslaughter.

St. Clair County Assistant District Attorney John Demarco said Delbert Amos Carlisle, 34, of Cropwell, was indicted on two counts for the June 2012 manslaughter and vehicular homicide of Michael Allen King, 40, of Pell City.

He said King was a passenger in the vehicle that Carlisle was driving when it collided with another vehicle along U.S. 78 between Riverside and Pell City.

The wreck happened at about 8 a.m. June 16, 2012.

King was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to newspaper accounts, Carlisle was taken to a Birmingham hospital by a Lifesaver helicopter. Another person was also injured in the collision and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

As of Wednesday, Carlisle remained in the St. Clair County Jail on a $15,000 bond.
