A Pell City man was indicted for the murder of his sister.

Brett Christopher Love, 30, was indicted for the murder of his sister, Lindsey Michelle Love, 29, of Pell City.

According to testimony in Love’s preliminary hearing, the man allegedly killed his sister during the early morning hours of June 19 after the two argued.

The woman’s body was found inside her apartment at the Pell City Housing Authority duplexes. Police removed a 1-year-old infant from the apartment after the woman’s body was found lying in a pool of blood in her living room.

During the preliminary hearing Pell City Police Detective Jonathan Swiney testified that Love allegedly texted a friend stating, “I killed my sis.”

Lindsey Love died from multiple sharp force trauma injuries, according to the St. Clair County Deputy Coroner Mike Pepple.

Love was taken into custody after he was located underneath the Interstate 20 bridge on Pleasant Valley Road in Pell City.

The suspect exercised his right to remain silent after he was taken into custody, according to court testimony during the preliminary hearing.

Love is expected to be arraigned Jan. 15. The murder suspect has remained in the St. Clair County Jail since his arrest and is being held without bond.

The court has appointed defense attorneys Michael Dillard and Tiffany Holder to represent Love during the criminal proceedings.
