The Lincoln Police Department is searching for an unnamed suspect in connection with the murder of a Talladega man.

“We are seeking a suspect believed to be female,” said Lincoln Police Investigator Amanda Crow. “We are not releasing any names at this time and are interviewing witnesses.”

Talladega County Coroner Shaddix Murphy identified the victim as John Caldwell, 63, who was found by family members at his residence on Roberson Road Monday. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Murphy said Caldwell had one stab wound to the neck but no other wounds. The body was sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery for autopsy.

Crow said authorities are searching for a suspect; however, no warrants have been issued, and she could not comment further at this time.

Anyone with information about the murder is asked to call Crow at 205-763-4070.
