The Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce recognized winners from its Christmas parade float contest at a City Council meeting this week. Float winners were as follows: grand prize, Nemak of Alabama; first place, The Home Depot; second place, Omya; third place, Westview Baptist Church; fourth place, Knollwood Christian School; fifth place, Mt. Olive First Baptist Church.

The 35th annual parade, held Dec. 3, had more than 70 entries and was well attended by the community, said Chamber director Carol Bates.
