Two people were injured – one critically – in a two-vehicle wreck Friday evening on U.S. 280 at the intersection of Center Point Road near Sylacauga, the Alabama Department of Public Safety reported.

The crash occurred at 5:53 p.m. when a 2001 Dodge Caravan driven by Harold William Holley, 51, of Sylacauga, failed to yield right of way to a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado driven by David Kimbrough, according to Trooper Kevin Cook of the department’s Public Information/Education Unit.

Kimbrough was taken to Coosa Valley Medical Center, where he was treated and released. Holley was taken to University Hospital in Birmingham in critical condition. He remained hospitalized Monday.

No further information was available Monday.
