Talladega held Munford to just 12 points in the first half, paving the way for a 67-24 win, their second lopsided win against the same opponent in as many weeks.

D’Angelo Scales led the way for the Tigers with 15 points, while Marius Echols, Josh Madden, Richard Williams, and Deangelo Pointer each scored eight points.

Tavon Lawson was the leading scorer for Munford with six points.

Meanwhile, in the opening game between rivals TC Central and Winterboro, the Fighting Tigers emerged victorious, 63-44.

TC Central was led by Crystyle Stockdale, who had a game-high 31 points.

Jutorrius Cook led Winterboro with 15 points.

With the win, TC Central set up a rematch with Talladega for the championship game.

Tipoff for the televised game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Certainly, one would assume TC Central would like to avenge a 96-54 loss from last year’s tournament finale.

Meanwhile, Talladega is looking to continue their second extended winning streak this season. Following the win against Munford, they’ve won four straight after beginning the year on a 10-game winning streak before falling to undefeated Ben Russell on the road.

Munford and Winterboro will battle for third place in the opener at 6 p.m.
