A Pell City school official said there was only a limited power outage at Kennedy Elementary School Tuesday morning.

“It’s up and running now,” said Gary Mozingo, the facilities supervisor for the Pell City School System.

He said one of three fuses near an outside transformer blew, causing a limited power outage in parts of the school.

“It was a little cool in the hallways,” he said.

He said workers from Alabama Power Company repaired or replaced the fuse and the power was restored to the elementary school.

Mozingo said only one classroom was without heat because of the incident.

He said the power wasn’t off long, and there wasn’t any damage to the school because of the incident, which occurred during a time when there were sub-freezing temperatures.
