Three Childersburg men have been arrested on felony drug charges after leading police on a brief chase.

Talladega County Drug and Violent Task Force Commander Jason Murray said each of the three men were arrested Tuesday and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, namely crack cocaine. He said he did not know if bond had been set for the three men Wednesday afternoon.

Christopher Levon Swain, 26, Melvin Dontae Keith, 27 and Marquis Quintel Briskey, 25, were all riding in a pick up truck when Childersburg police officers attempted to pull them over for a traffic violation. The men eventually bailed out of the truck and briefly attempted to flee on foot, but were eventually captured, Murray said.

Crack cocaine was recovered in the floorboard of the truck, he added.

Possession of a controlled substance is a class C felony in Alabama, punishable upon conviction by one year and one day to 10 years in prison.
