A police chase in Pell City ended near Stemley Bridge with assistance from the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department.

“At approximately 2 p.m., two females were walking on the walking trail at Lakeside Park when they were approached by a male,” Pell City Police Chief Greg Turley said. “According to witnesses, the male presented a knife in an attempt to threaten a female as one of the witnesses called 911. The unknown male then ran to his vehicle in an attempt to flee the scene. Officers pursued the suspect to Stemley Bridge, where deputies from the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department assisted in ending the pursuit. The male subject is being held at the St. Clair County Jail pending charges.”
