Lady Silent Warriors to play in Mason-Dixon tournament championship

After two wins, ASD will play in the championship game tonight at 8:15 p.m. (EST) in the Mason-Dixon Tournament held in Staunton, Va. Their opponent tonight will be Florida School for the Deaf.

ASD defeated their greatest rival Mississippi School for the Deaf on Thursday night, 37-29.

Te’Chana Dunklin led the team in scoring with 16 points, while Tuesdae Dunklin was also in double figures with 13 points. Tuesdae Dunklin also led the team with seven rebounds and three steals.

Friday night, the team notched another win against Virginia School for the Deaf, 41-26.

Te’Chana Dunklin led the team with 22 points. Dunklin also led the team with four steals. Ashley Laster contributed eight points and eight rebounds for the Lady Silent Warriors.

With both wins, ASD improved to 13-6 overall.


Kaylan Rich had a career-best 29 points to lead the Lady Rebels to a big road win Friday night. Rich finished with a double-double, grabbing 12 rebounds and also tallying three blocks. Rich had a strong shooting night.

The team opened up with a 26-7 first quarter lead and coasted for the remainder of the game.

Danielle Richardson scored 28 points, while also contributing eight rebounds, eight steals and five assists.

Shelby Hurt was second on the team in rebounds, finishing with 11.

The team hosts SMCA Tuesday with tipoff slated for 6 p.m.
