No one was injured Tuesday morning when a bag house caught on fire at a rock quarry in Childersburg.

Firefighters said filter media inside the structure, about 40 by 50 feet, caught on fire, and was difficult to extinguish because of limited access to the inside of the structure.

The fire department received the call at about 8 a.m. and remained on the scene at Dunn Construction Company’s asphalt plant until about 10:30 a.m.

All the filter media was damaged, and some of the metal structure was warped. The cause of the fire was not determined by midday Tuesday.
