A Pell City student was taken into custody Tuesday after allegedly breaking a school bus window.

“The Pell City Police Department responded to the incident involving a 17-year-old male Pell City High School Student,” said Dr. Michael Barber, superintendent of Pell City schools. “The student broke a bus window. No one was injured, and students changed buses as is protocol with a damaged bus.”

Barber said the incident occurred during the evening bus route Tuesday, and the student did not complete the rout following the incident.

Pell City Police Public Information Officer Sgt. Don Newton said the juvenile was taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct and criminal mischief, both misdemeanors.
