The grand jury handed down 78 indictments, according to its Feb. 13 report.
The grand jury issued five no bills and dismissed 16 cases, while continuing six cases.
In its report, the grand jury formally commended “law enforcement and all first responders for their dedication to the citizens during the recent snow/ice weather events we have experienced.”
The grand jury also thanked St. Clair County Deputies Donnie Howell and Dale Isbell for serving as their grand jury bailiffs during the week.
The grand jury also commended Gail Brewster and Donna Womack for maintaining a clean courthouse, and Lynn Crowe in maintenance.
The grand jury noted that there are 45 individuals enrolled in the Adult Drug Court, 13 juveniles enrolled in Juvenile Drug Court, 42 individuals in the Pre-Trail Diversion program and 133 defendants being supervised for the Court and Department of Corrections as part of the Front End/Institutional Diversion.
In addition, the grand jury report noted, that Community Corrections supervises 333 defendants on pre-trial release. One hundred individuals have graduated from Adult Drug Court and 41 individuals have graduated from the Juvenile Drug Court since their inception. There are nine Veterans Court participants.
The grand jury had no audits to review.
