Childersburg picked up two wins Friday to move to 4-1 overall.

The team defeated Calera 18-11 in the first game. Tyler Jackson earned the win on the mound.

Hunter McCain went 4-for-5 with three singles. Justin Baker went 3-for-4 with a single and two doubles. Peyton Logan was 3-for-5 with two singles and a double. Trevor Bates, Reeves Brashear, Jackson each had two hits. Bates also tallied three stolen bases.

Childersburg won their second game against Montevallo 11-6. Will Donahoo entered a bases loaded jam in the third inning with one out and got the team out of the inning. He went on to earn the win while striking out four batters.

Jamel Roston went 3-for-4 with two singles and a double. Logan went 2-for-3 with a single and a double. Brashear hit a home run. Alex Bentley had two hits. McCain, Baker, Jackson, and Bates each had a hit. Bates also had two stolen bases.

The team returns to the field Monday for the Talladega County Baseball Tournament. They host Talladega with first pitch expected to be around 6 p.m.


The Pell City Panthers improved to 3-1 on the season with a win Friday night.

Tanner Richey got the win on the mound while striking out three batters and allowing four hits.

Jackson Williamson went 3-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs. Chase Robinson went 2-for-2 with two RBIs. Carter St. John went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. They host Oak Mountain today at 10 a.m. and Brooks at 1 p.m.
