When it comes to making small-town governments work well, cooperation is a key element.

Sylacauga Councilman Walter Jacobson summed up his ideas on inter-governmental cooperation and the important role it plays in how Sylacauga’s Council and other agencies are working to move the region forward and improve the lives of residents here.

His views were so persuasive that the paper won recognition from the National League of Cities, and, as a result, Jacobson is representing Sylacauga at the national conference in Ohio.

We agree that cooperation is one of the most important elements in successful governing and commend Jacobson for representing the Council and his city so well on the national stage.
