For five years now, Pell City and Logan Martin Lake have been home to the Float ‘Yer Boat Regatta, where local residents, organizations and businesses build boats out of cardboard, duct tape and paint and race against each other.
Aside from a great day of family fun that brings the community together, the regatta is also a fundraiser for the Pell City Toys for Children program.
That worthy cause has helped countless kids across the area every year.
We thank the organizers and participants of this year’s event, scheduled for Saturday at Lakeside Park with races scheduled to start at 9 a.m. We hope everyone can come out and enjoy the “boat” races.
