Firefighters responded to a structure fire on Alabama 34 Wednesday afternoon.

Pell City Interim Fire Chief Jim Parsons said the fire was in a cooking shed adjacent to The Kitchen, a well-known community restaurant.

“They had been cooking in the building where the fire occurred earlier Wednesday,” he said.

Parsons said there was some heat damage from the flames to the outside of the main restaurant building.

“We won’t know the cause of the fire until the investigation is complete, however, arson is not suspected,” he said.

Parsons said the fire caused a total structure loss.

The fire was reported at approximately 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

No one was injured in the fire.
