The acts aren’t divided into large and small, they are simply acts intended to make a place better off than they found it.
Such is the case with the Hill family in Talladega. Patti and Terry L. Hill wanted to make a difference at their hometown library, so they donated funds to open a new computer and career center there.
Because of their efforts, the Armstrong-Osborne Library now has 13 computers for the public to use in a special area separated by sleek, glass walls.
In honor of the Hills’ support, it has been named the Terry L. Hill Career and Computer Center.
It represents not only a boon to the library’s offerings, but it will make a difference in the community, giving the public greater access to technology it needs. In the center is a screen and power point equipment for presentations, workshops and classes as well as the computer stations.
And library officials plan to hold classes to teach their use and provide a place for resume writing and other workshops for job seekers.
It is truly a place that can make a difference in people’s lives, and the Hills should be commended for their sizable role in making it happen.
