It is a novel approach to raising money, and the 1960s band reunion at the Marble City Grille in Sylacauga is an opportunity to provide much needed funds to the city’s educational foundation.

Organizing the Oct. 23 event, which begins at halftime of the Sylacauga-Moody game, are Sylacauga natives Billy Hatcher and Mike Shell.

They want to bring back memories of the 1960s through the sounds of the Tempos, The Exceptions and The Impacts, who will reunite and perform.

A buffet dinner and an auction will round out the evening of fun and musical nostalgia, and a large turnout is encouraged.

This is a chance to be a part of a fun event for a worthy cause, and it deserves strong support.
