The Bulldogs (4-3, 4-1) locked in a playoff spot by defeating Wadley last week. Head coach Adam Fossett said the Bulldogs should have home field advantage in the first round of the playoffs if they win the next two region games.
Notasulga (1-6, 1-4) comes into Friday’s game at Winterboro fresh off of its first win of the season. The Blue Devils defeated Donoho, 12-7 last week.
“They’re going to give us multiple sets on offense,” Fossett said. “They’ll put the ball in the quarterback’s hands and depend on him to make plays. Defensively, I expect them to blitz a lot up the middle.”
Winterboro’s Troy Garrett has impressed his coaches this season and proved his worth last week against Wadley. Garrett rushed for 164 yards in the game. Fossett said the team has done a good job of coming together and playing more like a team as the season progressed.
Winterboro and Notasulga kick off at 7 p.m. Friday from Winterboro Memorial Stadium.
COOSA CHRISTIAN VS. RAGLAND
The Coosa Christian Conquerors travel to face Ragland on Friday in a key region matchup.
Coosa Christian (6-1, 4-1) features standout running back A.T Thomas and the Purple Devils defense would need to contain him in order to come out with the victory on Friday.
Ragland (4-3, 4-1) has had success with the running game this year. Nick Daniels rushed for 118 yards against Jacksonville Christian last week.
Kickoff is set for Friday at 7 p.m. from Joan Ford Stadium in Ragland.
