The city of Talladega continues to breathe new life into public events and revive old traditions that once helped put the city on the map.

The latest of these is the reintroduction of the Talladega Follies, a community performance that used to draw huge crowds — not just to attend the event but also to participate in it.

Thanks to Antique Talladega and the Ritz Theatre, the follies will once again take to the stage for the first time in almost three decades.

Turnout for the casting signup this week has been fantastic and we applaud everyone who is working to put on the event.

It’s just one more indication that Talladega is on the right path.
