In the wake of the massacre at Fort Hood, Texas, this Veterans Day becomes more poignant, more significant. These men and women did not die on a foreign battlefield, but their sacrifice was no less important, President Barack Obama noted during a memorial Tuesday.
Those lives lost by virtue of where they were and what they were doing illustrate the sacrifice those in uniform have been willing to make in the name of their country for generations.
We salute all the men and women who serve the United States of America. Their dedication to duty is a service to all Americans and the ideals they hold dear.
