When the St. Clair County Economic Development Council formed a few years ago, it was with a focus not only on regional cooperation but attention to other new and innovative ways of doing business.

The promotions of Candice Hill as assistant director and Jennifer Forman as office and special projects manager fit well in that strategic planning for the future of St. Clair County.

New EDC executive director Don Smith has restructured the organization to fit future needs in economic development.

Hill, who has served as marketing and retail specialist for EDC, will take on additional roles in the recruitment of industry. And Forman will oversee special projects of EDC in addition to managing the day-to-day operation of the office.

The two are well suited for their new roles. They know and understand St. Clair County, they have proven track records, and they have an unmistakable passion for wanting to move the county forward.

The choices are good ones, and we commend EDC and its leadership for recognizing the value of the talents already serving the organization and giving those possessing them an opportunity to contribute even more.
