Prep Roundup: Talladega picks up big win over Munford

The Talladega Tigers defeated the Munford Lions, 93-49 on Tuesday.

The Tigers jumped out to a 22-6 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back. All 11 Talladega players scored and the Tigers had four players score in double digits. Tyler Mosley led the way with 19 points while Sidney Reynolds added 15. Jamarkius Truss and Semaj Roberson both added 10 points while Justin Fuller chipped in six points and eight assists.

Brandon Graham led Munford in scoring with 13 points. Jaren Dorman added 10 points for the Lions.

WINTERBORO 80, FAYETTEVILLE 63

The Winterboro Bulldogs defeated area foe Fayetteville, 80-63 on Tuesday.

Marcus Jones led the Bulldogs in scoring with 24 points and eight rebounds. Colby Maddox added 17 points while Josh Taylor had 16.

The Bulldogs move to 4-1 in region and will travel to face Talladega County Central on Thursday and Alabama School for the Deaf on Friday.

GIRLS

TALLADEGA 63, MUNFORD 57

The Lady Tigers of Talladega held off the Lady Lions of Munford, 63-57 on Tuesday.

Keyanna Chapman led the Lady Lions in scoring with 25 points and 12 rebounds while Keatrice Wilson added 10 points.

Jalisa Johnson led Talladega in scoring with 24 points. Shacara Reynolds added 14 for the Lady Tigers.

WINTERBORO 46, FAYETTEVILLE 31

The Lady Bulldogs of Winterboro defeated the Lady Wolves of Fayetteville, 46-31 on Tuesday.

Winterboro (5-6, 2-3) held a 15-point lead at halftime. Jasmine Richardson led the Lady Bulldogs in scoring with 23 points and five steals. Shantrice White added five points while Tanesha Merritt chipped in four points and five steals. Maryanna Garrett had four points and pulled down 10 rebounds. Tiffany Vincent added four points as well.

Samara Nix led Fayetteville in scoring with 10 points.
