Generous contributions have been pouring into our offices at The Daily Home in recent weeks, aimed at providing new shoes for children in need throughout the coverage area.

In the final week, the tally for the Salvation Army-Daily Home Shoes for Christmas program showed $8,116 donated from Sylacauga, Talladega and Pell City.

The donations are turned into certificates that are distributed to children in the region’s school systems who are determined by school officials to be in need of this special Christmas gift.

We thank all who gave this Christmas season for the help. It has not been an easy year due to the economy, but residents didn’t disappoint.

Your support of this project is greatly appreciated.
