TALLADEGA -The Lincoln Golden Bears picked up their second win of the tournament as they defeated Winterboro 57-54 in the Talladega Christmas Round Robin on Tuesday. With the win the Golden Bears finished second in the Talladega Christmas Round Robin and this was the Golden Bears third time defeating Winterboro this season.

The Golden Bears trailed by two points 45-43 going into the fourth quarter, but the Golden Bears quickly erased the Winterboro lead. Sophomore Sharrod Cochran’s layup put the Golden Bears up for good 48-47 with 4:59 left in the fourth quarter.

Jay Collins sealed the win for the Golden Bears as he knocked down a free throw to make it 57-54 with 12 seconds left in the game.

In the third quarter the Bulldogs erased a three-point deficit at halftime to take a 45-43 lead going into the fourth quarter.

Cochran led the Golden Bears with 25 points. Cochran was named to the All-Tournament team. Collins, who was also named to the All Tournament team, had a strong game as he finished with 11 points. Winterboro’s Colby Maddox and Marcus Jones also made the All-Tournament team.
