The town of Riverside has big plans for its newly purchased waterfront property.

The old D&S Marina was bought by the city, and municipal officials see the property not only giving local residents better access to the lake, but as a way to draw more people to the region.

While the completion of all the projects is months away, if not a year or so, Riverside is already benefiting from the purchase.

The boat launch has been open for public use, and it only costs a nominal $3 — collected on the honor system.

This is only the first step in a long process that will improve the quality of life in Riverside and make the community a more attractive place to live.
