Coosa Valley Medical Center in Sylacauga has earned national recognition as a “leading performer” among hospitals across the country.

The Voluntary Hospitals of America named the hospital the best in two categories – Pain Well-Controlled and Discharge Instruction – among 2,000 hospitals being judged on their performance.

It is testament to the kind of community hospital officials there run. “We know our neighbors. We know who we’re taking care of,” said Amy Price, vice president of Patient Care Services at CVMC.

They help the patient all the way through the process and even afterward, making follow-up calls to ensure they make appointments with their doctors.

It truly is a community hospital, and we congratulate the entire staff for their efforts in making patients feel at ease and well cared for. It is the mark of a hospital that serves its patients well, and it is owed a debt of thanks.
