Talladega has a hero in its midst. Wendy Burns, a registered nurse at Citzens Baptist Medical Center, has been named a “Hospital Hero” by the Alabama Hospital Association.

Burns is known as the “go to” nurse at Citizens, a person colleagues turn to for help and advice. The AHA said she has an “intense passion for nursing, particularly critical care nursing.”

She is a leader in the hospital, serving on five hospital committees dedicated to quality care of patients.

We congratulate Burns on the recognition. It is certainly an honor she has earned for herself and her hospital.
