TALLADEGA – The Lady Tornadoes of Talladega College scored early and often in their 98-58 victory over Concordia College on Tuesday.

Seniors Tamiko Rounds and Morgan Bennett put on a scoring clinic in the first half, netting 15 and 13 points respectively. The Lady Tornadoes used a tenacious defense and scored points off of steals and turnovers to boost their lead. Concordia had a three-minute scoring drought early in the first half and were never able to recover.

TC held a 53-21 advantage at the end of the first half.

The Lady Tornadoes continued to dominate in the second half and the Lady Hornets couldn’t handle TC’s defensive pressure. Bennett scored another 13 points in the second to finish as the leading scorer with 26 points. Kim Trevino and Shakila Cole both added seven in the period.

Rounds finished with 19 points. Ebony Richardson had 14 while Trevino added 13. Cole chipped in nine for the Lady Tornadoes.

TC moves to 15-10 on the season and will travel to face Voorhees on Friday.
