AggieMom - here is my point. There are people who have been working on this problem for over a year. Unfortunately, the middle and upper-class people in Sylacauga, have, for the very most part ignored the situation - out of sight, out of mind, right?
As I said, we have to take EVERY opportunity to keep this in the news. Believe me, people read these forums and it does make an impact. I'm sorry if you got caught in the line of fire but, you are not the first one; we bring up REEF in every article we can.
Here's an example. You apparently are a sports-mother; would you like for your child to play on the ball fields at your Twin Street? If I had children, they would not. The toxic fumes are enough to make people sick - ask Birds and others if you do not believe me.
It's apparent that you are on "our" side; given thatwe will see you Thursday night at 6:00 at the community center; please wear an Aggie shirt so as to identify yourself or walk around and introduce yourself to us.
Please bring as many of your friends as possible. We had 60 at the last meeting, it would be great to have double that. We're counting on you and others like you to help pick up the slack.
Sincerely,
Bosley Alderman
I think you missed my point. I was not saying any of your concerns or the concerns of others were not important. I was only trying to correct a misstake in the paper. Don't jump on my or others about the Reef situation without knowing where we stand on the issue.
I think AggieMom is missing the point.
First, everything in Sylacauga relates to REEF as it is indicative of the lack of care that most people have for their neighbors. I've not noticed her posting regarding the smell, the acrid fumes and especially how it negatively affects our friends in the Mill Village and Walco.
Second, she doesn't understand that we have to keep the topic alive. A few of us care and we're going to use every chance we get to bash REEF and our government until the problem is solved.
Aggiemom - there is a big meeting of the Sylacauga Concerned Citizens group this Thursday at the community center in Sylacauga. You're more than welcome to attend; you help us and we'll cheer for the Aggies.
Sincerely,
Bosley Alderman
Nothing was meant by my comment, other than setting the record straight. If you want to support the community, go out and support a child at any sporting event, it just might do you some good as well.
Hello BG! How is the back?
Sincerely,
Bosley "3 strikes and yer out" Alderman
Most of them do not care that their neighbors in the Mill Village and Walco are suffocating from the stench of REEF but, by God, let the DH misstate how many times someone has won a non-important championship and they go bonkers!
Citizens of Sylacauga - there is life outside of the ball field; wake up and look around!
Sincerely,
Bosley Alderman
