The town of Oak Grove premiered its new Web site, www.townofoakgrove.org, at the Town Council meeting this week and invited everyone else to have a look. We did, and we’re impressed.

Oak Grove’s administrative assistant Christine Blackburn said she plans to add even more features, expand the photo gallery and fill out the events calendar over time. But she already has a wealth of information on the site.

Want to know about animal control? The town’s ordinance is explained on a page with a photo of the animal control officer. Want information about the upcoming Heritage Festival? There’s a whole page with dates, attractions, prices and telephone numbers. Need an update on the status of the Comet Grove Community Garden. That’s there too. Want to know how to go about renting the Senior Center? You’ve come to the right place. And that’s just a sampling.

Blackburn has done a fine job of pulling together useful information about the town and what it has to offer, whether you’re interested in tourism, business development or residential services.
